How to start listening together

Once you're matched, tap the Listen button in the chat header. Search for a song, paste a YouTube link, or pick from curated playlists spanning Bollywood decades, trending tracks, and more. Your stranger gets an invite and can accept or decline with one tap. Declining just closes the invite and the conversation continues.

The player sits right above the message composer, so the chat keeps flowing while it plays. It starts in audio mode to sip mobile data, and either side can switch to video to watch together. Either side can end the session at any time.

What stays in sync

• Play and pause mirror instantly: when one side pauses, both sides pause.
• Seeking jumps both players to the same moment, so you always hear the same part.
• Shared playlists advance together, track by track, with previous and next controls on both sides.

Why music belongs in stranger chat

Taste is a shortcut to intimacy. Trading three favorite songs tells you more about a stranger than thirty messages of small talk, and reacting to the same chorus at the same moment is the closest text chat gets to being in the same room.

Music also rescues dying chats. When the messages slow down, sharing a song is a graceful reset that gives you both something new to react to without admitting the conversation stalled.

A little listening etiquette

• Declining is fine. A declined invite isn't a rejection of you, just of the song.
• Take turns picking. Your track, then theirs.
• Keep chatting during the music. Silent listeners are suspicious listeners.
• Match the energy: a sleepy ballad in a hype chat helps nobody.
