Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

When you use Talknfun, we collect the following information to provide and improve our service:

• Profile information: Age, gender, and interest tag you provide during onboarding. This is used exclusively for matching you with a compatible partner and is shared with your match.
• Chat messages: Messages you send during a chat are transmitted in real time and are not stored on our servers after the chat session ends.
• Authentication data: Anonymous sessions are created without email, password, or personal identifiers. No authentication credentials are stored.
• Usage data: Aggregate statistics such as active user count, chat duration, and connection timestamps for our status dashboard.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Authentication: Session cookies to keep you signed in.
• Preferences: Local storage to remember your onboarding information and settings.

Third-Party Services

Some features load content directly from third parties in your browser, which is then subject to their own privacy policies:

• Giphy: GIF search and images when you open the GIF picker or view a shared GIF.
• YouTube and Google: video thumbnails, titles, and the embedded player when you use shared listening, including audio and video playback.

How We Use Your Information

• To match you with a chat partner based on your preferences.
• To facilitate real-time communication between users.
• To display anonymous aggregate statistics on our status dashboard.
• To improve and troubleshoot the platform.

Data Retention

Chat messages are ephemeral and are not stored after a chat session ends. Profile information is stored in your browser's local storage and on our servers only as long as necessary for matching. Aggregate statistics are retained for analytical purposes.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. You can clear your local storage at any time through your browser settings. To request deletion of server-side data, contact us using the information below.
